This is a nice application that takes the iphone Hipsmatic app one step further. Instagram allows you to share your photographs and location across all your social networks simultaneously. i.e facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Four Square.

The one problem with Hipsmatic is that you had to upload to each social feed separately. This takes time, which a lot of people haven't got.

They want to become the visual Twitter. Which sounds like it could work. That is, if the person taking the photographs is interesting.

If Martin Parr used it, people would follow it. If Dave from Swindon used it... no one would probably follow it.

A micro bit inspired

Here's a cool idea from Micro Machines (top photo). 

The inspiration must have come from little people street art. The artist puts really small models of people in really big places. We like this.

We're spotting a lot of things that creative types (especially in advertising) have obviously looked at for inspiration. For instance the new Sacia Pesto advert is inspired from Lasse Gjertsen and his Hyperactive beat boxing video. The Think "break dancing bear" was a direct lift from a perception video using a dancing gorilla that went around offices in september last year. There is also an ad out that lifts the Ok Go treadmill dance which we haven't been able to find, but we will.

We seem to be all looking at the same stuff and it all seems to be from Youtube. 

At least Sony Play Doh was apparently inspired from a painting.

Sleeve Art

This was something we stumbled upon at the beginning of the year. Who would have thought that vinyl sleeves would make a comeback in this modern world of downloading!

Quick fact - apparently 90% of purchased music is downloaded.

This actually brings up an idea that we were discussing the other day.

Album art needs to develop. At the moment what would have been a large canvas now only exists as a jpeg that just sits as a still on itunes. But it could be so much more. Bring on interactivity is what we say!

Artists could create artwork that could be moved, changed and played with (embedded videos maybe). Music can touch on more senses! Just think of the itunes visualiser as your own music and visual playground!

Album artwork should be moving along way from Vinyl sleeves very soon we think!

Anyone else thinks artists could benefit from immersing their audience in an audio/visual experience? Imagine the Daft Punk concert experience right on your laptop...Awesome!
