Check Out We Are Us

I stumbled across We Are Us today. They do design, brand image, websites and direction. Pretty cool. Fingers in all the pies.

Here are a couple of there music video promos.

Friday Afternoon Art Direction

Dennis Maitland goes to great lengths to capture these vertigo inducing photo's. Could see this kind of shots being used in a clothes/shoes poster campaign.

Via Adverve

A scary visual of how many McDonald's are in the United States.

A nice interactive site for Wrangler. You drag the models from scene to scene. Nicely done. It's obviously had some money thrown at it.

What your Sell??

Here's some barcode art! Did you know that barcodes only need the center to be right for it to work? So the top and bottom can be designed how you see fit. Just wait to see if it becomes fashionable over here. Those crazy Japanese seem to be using these already.

And this tediously links me into this next part...

Been looking at a lot of blogs of late, especially creative/ advertising type ones. Now like anyone starting a blog you have to find your ticket into other bloggers links (hearts?) and also peoples bookmark bars otherwise no one's going to know your blog exists, and what's the point of a blog if you don't have any traffic?

A catchy title obviously helps (people in advertising should have this part down) but what's your sell? How do you differentiate yourself from all the existing blogs? We never decided to just blog about digital creativity cause not everybody cares about it. If we think it's good we'll put it up.

We like the ideas/photos/designs that make you realise there are some great creative people out there. If you just feel creative/happy/motivated from looking at our blog then we've done our job. I hope this post did just that!

Maybe some day, our work will be blogged about in the same way.

It's really hot so here's something cool!

This is stuff from the illustrator Parra who designs out of the Rockwell Shop. They do some great limited prints and are always adding new designs. So i suggest you go here to pick up a seriously well illustrated piece of clothing (Big G has one himself).

His video below is particular weird...but oozes coolness.

Fontbots, typeface in disguise

Found this by designer Jonathon Yule, we think this is a really cool twist to the everyday typefaces we seem to see again and again! See the rest of his robots here

Fontbots, transform and kern out!

Weapons of mass day to day use

How do you like your egg in the morning?

I like mine in the shape of a gun. I also like my mug to double as a knuckle duster, my external hard drives to imitate a bomb, and my girls to understand i like this stuff. I think this means I'm a proper bloke, or at least am trying to be one. However one thing is for sure, i wont hold a girlfriend for long, and will know doubt end up on the 9 o'clock news.

I do have a few problems with these...

1. They are mental
2. They are weird
3 And i love them.

To be honest i would quite happily go with the  AMCE style bomb because there is no bombs that are actually that shape. But i think you could really hurt someone with the mug.

Basically I'm not sure what i really think of these, but I'm sure that is a good place to be (not actually mental, but still a bit of a bloke) .

First the Boom Box now the Bird Box.

We've found this awesome product called the "Bird box".

It's a speaker designed in a bird house shape. What's cool about this is that you could have them situated in communal areas of parks, they could then pick up a bluetooth signal so you could pipe your favourite tunes straight from your phone.

Come on Sony what you waiting for.

Sun Jar

Tobias Wong, the man who brought us the smoking mittens has got some other sweet designs under his belt. The Sun Jar caught our eye as environmentally friendly and pretty kick ass.

Sponge Cake

Washing up never seemed like such a good idea!

Ballpoint pen cutlery.

This just makes perfect sense, well in Big G's mind anyway! Ever tried to find clean cutlery at a busy agency? Nuff said!

It's just a nice idea.

This is a gem of an idea by Becky Miller, a recent graduate from the University of Brighton.

Check out her work here.
