QR codes get pretty

The normal QR code that 'the entire world' know about...right?

Peringon
Don Perignon's sexy QR codes that point to the campaign below

QR codes. Every one in advertising has heard about them. Everyone else hasn't.

They are a coded image that when photographed by a smart phone, sends it a link to an image, URL or video.

It's a very smart barcode if you want to explain it to someone out of advertising.

It seems they are finally making their way onto posters in this country.

We saw this nice example of how they can be incorporated into a brands logo. It means they don't stick out like a black and white sore thumb on the page.

They can now work with the look of a poster and give the people who know what it is more information.

Nifty stuff hey?

The company that do them are called Set Japan.

Thoughts for a Tuesday

Subaru: Choose your driving angle.

A nice use of interactivity on Youtube. Different angles in film are all the rage.

The future of mobile tagging.

You might just be getting used to writing the words 'share' and 'status update' into every creative doc you write. But don't forget mobile advertising's potential this year.

Scan read this slide show for a quick hit of mobile point of sale and QR code banter.

Facebook and mobile are soon going to be hand in hand as Facebook places start offering deals for check ins.

Deals will offer up a new way of getting customers interested and loyal to a brand. Go into a shop, check in three times and get 20% off.

"What's that Mr Brand? Money off. Yes please!" (Customers will say)

Check out this example...

Finally..

This is quite cool. Not massively impressed by the execution. But the tech is nice.

SNL Digital Shorts

All very funny. Surprised these past us by...

Andy and Pee Wee Herman's big night out

Great day

Shy Ronnie

Who said crayons were for children

Here's some nice portraits done with crayons. Clever stuff innit?

The moody looking artist behind these delights is Christian Faur.

He's obviously came up with some deep and meaningful pyscho-babble to rationalise why he's used crayons.

I just think they're pretty cool to look at. Why is that never enough for the art world?

I just had sex and it featured Akon

Really late onto this one. But it's too good not to post.

The new track from The Lonely Island with Akon lending his vocal talents.

I just had sex.

Awesome and funny. Watch for the cameo's.

Great...

Great edit

Great tech

Been meaning to post these two things for a while. Christmas got in the way.

The filmography of 2010 is a master class in how to edit footage together. It's done by a guy who calls himself Gen Rocks.

And this is a smart use of augmented reality for a change. It's purpose is to change signs into your native language so you can understand them. This could have loads of uses other than translation.

Josh Groban sings Kanye West Tweets

I like his album. But the dude doesn't do himself any favours on Twitter.

Epic Kitchen

This is ridiculously well shot. How do you make cooking feel epic? You get Martin Krejci to direct it and slam on a voice over by Rutger Hauer.

Well done W&K. Where's the Lurpak?
